We are now affectionately calling our home the 'hippie commune' as a testament to all the craziness happening around here. Today we learned there is a scuba diver that rents land to the side of the house in the summer so he can set up his tent. Ok, cool. Today was long and draining, but again extremely rewarding. We all woke up early and were in the studio before 8:00AM to finish mixing paints. Once paints were mixed we began our bamboo ballet (with an appropriate Tchaikovsky accompaniment). By the end of the morning we had cartooned large scale illustrations on the floor (note each square is 1'x1' and was draw with a bamboo). The day continued with lectures and practicing of base coat techniques, which turned out awesomely I must say. After studio we spent the evening sharing work, eating a delicious dinner, and heading to the local ice cream shop where I got a frozen banana (cue Arrested Development joke)! It's so great that this early in the week we've all bonded and there's a great sense of community in the house. I think we've stayed up late almost every night this week just gabbing, reading buzzfeed articles, and porch drinking. I could really get used to this.
